Source:

Optimized DNA sequence encoding Human Kallikrein-6 - KLK6 (GLU17-LYS244 ) preprotein including a C-terminal His tag was expressed in HEK293 cells.

Molecular weight:

Recombinant Human Kallikrein-6 (hK6) is a protein consisting of 234 amino acid residue subunits, due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately as 32kDa band protein on reduced SDS-PAGE.

Purity:
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC

Biological Activity:
The activity was tested by the ability to cleave a fluorogenic substrate Boc-QARAMC .The specific activity was measured to be 250 pmole/ug/min

Endotoxin:
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).

Presentation:
Recombinant Kallikrein-6 (hK6) is lyophilized  from 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution,  pH7.2 ,  5% Trehalose.

Reconstitution:
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.

Storage:
Recombinant Kallikrein-6 (KLK6) can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Kallikrein-6

The KLK6 gene is a new member of the human kallikrein gene family and encodes for a secreted protease, human kallikrein 6 (hK6; also known as zyme/protease M/neurosin). Kallikrein 6, which has been proposed as a novel biomarker of ovarian cancer , has been shown in vitro to cleave substrates involved in carcinogenesis . Kallikrein 6 is also among the members of the kallikrein family with high levels of expression in the brain and related fluids
