Source:

Optimized DNA sequence  encoding mature chain of Mouse Metalloproteinase inhibitor 1 -TIMP-1(CYS25-ARG205) including a C-terminal His tag was expressed in HEK293 cells.

Molecular weight:

Recombinant Mouse TIMP1 is a protein consisting of 190 amino acid residue subunits, due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately as 22kDa band protein on reduced SDS-PAGE.

Purity:
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC

Biological activity:
The activity was tested by the ability of recombinant mouse TIMP2 to inhibit human MMP2 cleavage of a fluorogenic peptide substrate, the calculated ED50 is < 6nM.

Endotoxin:
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).

Presentation:
Recombinant Mouse TIMP-1 is lyophilized  from 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution,  pH7.2 ,  5% Trehalose.

Reconstitution:
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.

Storage:
Recombinant TIMP1 can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Usage:
This product is for research purposes only.It may not be used for therapeutics or diagnostic purposes.

TIMP-1

Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1 (TIMP- 1) is a glycoprotein with a relative molecular weight of 28,500 that is ubiquitously expressed in numerous human cells and tissues. TIMP-1 belongs to a group of four endogenous inhibitors (TIMP- 1–TIMP-4) that control the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) and other metalloproteinases . In this respect, TIMP-1 is an important regulator of extracellular matrix turnover. TIMP-1 was discovered as a humoral protein that promoted the proliferation of human erythroid progenitor .
