Recombinant human R-Spondin-3 is a protein consisting of 130 amino acid residue subunits,due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately 24kDa protein on reduced SDS-PAGE.

R-Spondin3

The R-Spondin (RSpo) family of secreted proteins is implicated in the amplification of canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway both in vitro and in vivo. All four RSpo family members contain an N- terminal signal peptide, two furin-like domains, followed by a thrombospondin type1 domain, and a C-terminal region rich with positively charged amino acids. The Wnt/β-catenin signaling plays a pivotal role in both embryonic development and homeostatic self-renewal of adult tissues, including gastrointestinal (GI) and oral mucosa. Human RSPO1 was first identified by its ability to stimulate the growth of intestinal epithelium in transgenic mice. The therapeutic potential of the RSPO1 protein was also demonstrated in mouse models of cancer-therapy-induced mucositis and experimental colitis
