Recombinant human TNF receptor 2 (CD120b) is a protein consisting of 248 amino acid residue subunits, due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately 45kDa protein on SDS-PAGE.

Biological Activity:

Recombinant Human TNF receptor 2 (CD120b) activity was determined by the ability to inhibit the TNFα mediated cytotoxicity in the L929 mouse fibrosarcoma cells in the presence of the metabolic inhibitor actinomycin D.

The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.2-0.8 μg/mL in the presence of 0.15 ng/mL recombinant Human TNFα .

 

Endotoxin:

Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).

 
Presentation:
Recombinant human TNFR2 (TNFRSF1B) is supplied as a 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution, pH7.2.

              
Storage:
Recombinant Human TNF receptor 2 (CD120b), as supplied, can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

TNFR2

The effects of TNFα are mediated by two distinct cell surface receptors, p55 TNF-R1 and p75 TNF-R2, that are expressed on almost all nucleated cells. Both receptors lack recognizable enzymatic domains, and their ability to transduce signals is dependent on the interaction with proteins associating with their cytoplasmic tails. Like other members of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor family, p55 TNF receptor 1 (TNF-R1) lacks intrinsic signaling capacity and transduces signals by recruiting associating molecules. The TNF-R1 associated death domain protein interacts with the p55 TNF-R1 cytoplasmic domain and recruits the Fas- associated death domain protein.
