Optimized DNA sequence  encoding  extracellular domain of human GM-CSF receptor CD116 including a C-terminal 6His tag was expressed in HEK293 cells.

Molecular weight:

Recombinant GM-CSFR (GM-CSF receptor) is a monomer protein consisting of 309 amino acid residue subunits, due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately 60 kDa protein on SDS-PAGE.

Biological Activity:

The activity of Recombinant human GM-CSFR was measured by its ability to inhibit GM-CSF dependent proliferation of TF-1 human erythroleukemic cells. The ED50 for this effect is typically 3 - 5 ug / ml



Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).

Recombinant human GM-CSF receptor is supplied as a 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution, pH7.2.

Recombinant CD116, as supplied, can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

GM-CSF is a multifunctional cytokine that mediates its hematopoietic and inflammatory activities through a membrane-spanning cell surface receptor that consists of a ligand-binding subunit, GM-CSF receptor α subunit (GMRα), and a signal-transducing subunit, βc. GMRα is a 378-aa protein that consists of a 298-aa extracellular domain, a 26- aa membrane-spanning domain, and a 54-aa cytoplasmic domain. GMRα is also expressed as an alternatively spliced soluble isoform, soluble GMRα (sGMRα). sGMRα arises through alternative splicing of the parental GMRα gene product.sGMRα antagonizes the function of GM-CSF in vitro by binding to it and preventing it from interacting with the cell surface GMRα/βc complex. sGMRα has also been shown to inhibit the proliferation of GM-CSF-dependent cell lines
