Source:
DNA sequence encoding mature chain of Human IL16  to a C-terminal polyHis tag was expressed in HEK cells.

Molecular weight:

Recombinant Human Interleukin-16  is a monomer consisting of 125 amino acid residue , and migrates as an approximately 23 kDa protein under reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Purity:
>97%, as determined by SDS-PAGE

Biological Activity:
The activity was determined by the ability to bind recombinant human CD4 in functional ELISA.

Endotoxin:
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).

Presentation:
Recombinant Human Interleukin-28B  was lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution pH 7.4.

Reconstitution:
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.

Storage:
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20° C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20° C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Usage:
This cytokine product is for research purposes only.It may not be used for therapeutics or diagnostic purposes.

IL16

Interleukin-16 stimulates a migratory response in CD4+ lymphocytes, monocytes, and eosinophils. Primes CD4+ T- cells for IL-2 and IL-15 responsiveness. Also induces T-lymphocyte expression of interleukin 2 receptor. Ligand for CD4. Isoform 1 may act as a scaffolding protein that anchors ion channels in the membrane. Isoform 3 is involved in cell cycle progression in T-cells. Appears to be involved in transcriptional regulation of SKP2 and is probably part of a transcriptional repression complex on the core promoter of the SKP2 gene. May act as a scaffold for GABPB1 (the DNA-binding subunit the GABP transcription factor complex) and HDAC3 thus maintaining transcriptional repression and blocking cell cycle progression in resting T-cells.
