Source:
DNA sequence encoding immunodominant  fragment of Hepatitis C Virus nonstructural protein 3 was expressed in Escherichia Coli.

Molecular weight:

Recombinant HCV NS3 encodes the immunodominant sequences of the HCV serine protease nonstructural protein. This molecule has a calculated mass of approximately 11kDa.

Recombinant HCV NS3 contains an N terminal GST purification tag and migrates as an approximately 37 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Purity:
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Applications:

HCV NS3 antigen is suitable for ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of HCV with minimal specificity problems.

Genotypes:

Available HCV NS3 genotypes: 1a,1c,2c,2b,5,6a.

 Specificity:
Immunoreactive with sera of HCV-infected individuals.

Presentation:
50mM Tris-HCl, pH-8, 60mM NaCl, 10mM glutathione, 0.25% sarkosil & 50% glycerol.

Storage:
This protein can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20° C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Usage:
This  product is for research purposes only.It may not be used for therapeutics or diagnostic purposes.

HCV NS3

The NS3 protein of hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a bifunctional protein containing a serine protease in the N-terminal one-third, which is stimulated upon binding of the NS4A cofactor, and an RNA helicase in the C-terminal. The C-terminal 450 amino acids of the NS3 protein manifest a polynucleotide- stimulated NTPase activity, a 3-to-5 unwinding activity, and a single-stranded polynucleotide binding activity.
