Optimized DNA sequence encoding extracellular domain of human CD66a including a C-terminal 6His tag was expressed in HEK293 cells.
Molecular weight:
Recombinant human CD66a is a monomer protein consisting of 405 amino acid residue subunits, due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately 65-85 kDa protein on SDS-PAGE.
Purity:
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Biological Activity:
The activity was tested by immobilized recombinant CD66a (10ug/ml) ability to bind recombinant human CD66b in functional ELISA.
Endotoxin:
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).
Presentation:
Recombinant CD66a is supplied as a 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution, pH7.2 .
Storage:
Recombinant CD66a, as supplied, can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months.
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Usage:
This product is for research purposes only. It may not be used for therapeutics or diagnostic purposes.
CD66a
CD66a is a member of the
carcinoembryonic antigen
(CEA) family, which belongs
to the immunoglobulin
superfamily. However, CD66a
combines structural features
of the immunoglobulin
superfamily with functional
properties of cadherins.The
mechanism(s) by which CD66a
transmits signals.are
unclear. However, CD66a is
phosphorylated on its
cytoplasmic domain, largely
on tyrosine with a lower
level of phosphoserine, in
neutrophils and colon cancer
cells. While at least eight
isoforms of CD66a derived
from differential splicing
have been described, only
those isoforms with a long
cytoplasmic tail can be
phosphorylated on tyrosine.
In addition, associated
protein tyrosine kinase and
phosphatase activities may
be involved in CD66a
signaling.
